can't update 3rd party software #595

Installed usb-creator 1.0 b13

patched my apple tv 1 g successfully

can run boxee and xmbc, but apple tv crashes when I try to update 3rd party 
plugins

how do i get nito, enable usb port etc?

I select check for updates and I then get "an error has occurred" Press 
play/pause to restart your apple tv

please help

ITV version 3.0.2
softwaremenu version 1.0b1
launcher 3.2.5

OSX 10.6.7

I am having the same problem. Have tried everything but can't get check for 
updates in the 3rd party menu.. I really want to install nito to get my Apple 
TV 1g working in color in stead of Black and White. I have it hooked up to an 
old tv without hdmi in so I'm currently enjoying only Black and White video.. 
Nito supposedly can fix this.. If anyone knows of an other way around this 
without into I would love to hear about it too...

Thanks again! Have installed NitoTV manually and after installing 
Turbo_ATV_enabler (also referred to as Turbo's Kext Installer) from 
http://0xfeedbeef.com/appletv/

And after moving compositetv kext into rc.local using the Nito's Kext manager 
and restarting my Apple tv 1g... I came back up in COLOR!!! Very happy I got it 
working.. I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to these things. But thanks to these 
forums and thanks to the excellent information from the people from 
atvubs-creator and AwkwardTV I pulled through.. And of course thanks a lot to 
Turbo - for the excellent work on the kext ATV enabler!! 
Thanks a lot! Will enjoy my APTV1 in color now!
