What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It says "Partition the target Disk"
2. I open disk utility and partition the flash drive
3. Then thinks for awhile and goes to "Unable to mount recovery: mount_hfs:
Permission denied
  install_recovery failed"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Always fails.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
atvusb-creator-1.0.b13, Mac OS X 10.4.11 PowerBook G4 1.5GHZ Power PC

Please provide any additional information below.
I partitioned the drive into two equal sides, in the Mac Os Extended format.
I'm using an Apple TV 1st Gen. and I've tried three different usb drives.

Please help!

open terminal >> type" sudo -s" >> enter your user password>> now go to the atv
creator app in finder and right click on it and select show package
contents>>contents|macOS| and drag the atvcreator package to the terminal and
hit enter. now it will launch and should work it did for me anyways
