Does ANY USB work with this thing??? #636

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. 4 different USBs, from old to brand spanking new
2. Clean or portioned
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expect it to work, but 
bombs every time after "install_recovery failed"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 1.0.b13 on 
os x 10.8.4 on mac mini and mac book air

Please provide any additional information below.
Seriously WTF moment with this.  Don't tell me it's the USB because I have 
tried 4 in 2 different machines with the same result.  This just flat doesn't 
work!  Very frustrating.
