Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Insert USB thumbdrive
2. Launch thumbdrive
3. Select ATV-Patchstick and click "create using" button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I was expecting the USB stick to be created.

This is all it shows. DMG was downloaded.

Creating USB Image...
Creating USB Flash
Complete! (0:00:01)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ATV-Creater for Mac. Mac OS X 10.5.5

Please provide any additional information below.
I've tried this with two different patchsticks.

I used disk utility and erased the USB drive using MAC OS standard format.
Seems to
be doing something now.

I have the same problem, tried on 3 different USB sticks :(

Exact same problem occurs here, across two different USB sticks. Sticks have
been
formatted as MacOS Standard, MacOS Extended (Journaled and non) without any
effect.
Partition maps tried are GUID and Apple Partition map. USB memory sticks are
both
1GB, but different brands. I've also tried manually unmounting the only volume
on the
disk before running the USB creator.

OS in use is Leopard (10.5.5), no DMG has been specified (default download
used), and
both SSH tools and XBMC installation options have been tried with the same
results.

Recurring output is:

Verifying SHA1 of DMG image...
Extracting boot.efi ...
Creating USB Image...
Extracting atv_512MB.7z
Extracting atv_recv.7z
Creating USB Flash

The 'path without spaces' fix worked for me. There was a space in the name of
my main
internal HD, and a space in the name of the USB Creator's folder when unzipped.
Moving the folder to a different (external) HD and renaming the folder seems to
have
solved the issue.

I would try the tips that pikelet said above, and which also has been pointed
out in
a different post.

Yep, it's a space in the path. b3 is the same as b2 but the folder name does
not have a space in it.
