I have a refined storage system with Mekanism Ultimate bins as external storage. I had 200K charcoal in a bin and decided to use another bin for charcoal block. I converted all the charcoal to charcoal block from the refined storage grid by placing charcoal on the grid and then shift left clicking the charcoal block. I noticed that I ended up with the same amount of charcoal block. Seems like it's using 1 stack of charcoal to create 1 stack of charcoal block. I tried with diamond and experiencing the same result. You can multiply by 9 your diamonds this way.
