What is the score shown in the analysis box?

Is that the score of the game:

And is there way to use stockfish to display the score of the game currently displayed on the board?

Thanks.

It's the score of the game currently displayed on the board.

  • currently displayed on the board?
  • after the first half-move suggested by the engine?
  • after the best line suggested by the engine? The README is vague on this.

Thanks.

What does the WDL statistic show? I see "Win=0.0% Draw=0.0% Loss=100.0%" But who?

exekutive commented 3 years ago

If I flip the board, it still says loss. So who is it calculating for?

wdl

I ran an analysis and obtained a strong positive score, indicating a probably win for white. WDL shows 100% loss. (roughly 24 depth) With the exact same game, I ran another analysis on a different move variation. Again, it resulted in a similar, strong, positive score. (again roughly 24 depth). This time it predicted 100% win. Board in same orientation. This makes absolutely no sense to me.

Can someone please help me understand the meaning of WDL ??

OK I think I get it now. The WDL score is for the player currently selected (white or black) in the move list.
