Hard to read comments in dark themes #55

Closed enmanuelr closed 11 years ago

Most dark themes have little contrast between the color used for comments and the background. If you configure the editor to highlight the current line, the problem gets worse. The line of the comment you are currently reading is barely readable.

It would be very helpful to have more contrast between comments, the background and the line highlight.

Screenshot attached as a demonstration. Thanks!

I kinda like them like that, but what I'm gonna do is make a new set of the themes with slightly higher contrast. Darker backgrounds, lighter comments etc as I have found it can be tricky to see code with some monitors.

I understand your point of view. You want to highlight code and de emphasize comments. Keep code front and center. However as a person that writes and edits lots of comments this can be a problem. I thanks for the reply!

I've lightened the comments a little in my Contrast set which is now available. Let me know if that has improved matters. If not I can try and make a bright comments alternative set. :)

The themes under the new Contrast menu are great. Thanks so much.
