Reposted for @TheRexRed from #161, creating new issues for easier tracking

Actually, I have quite a few questions. First, I would like to thank the Daz to Blender team for fixing the eye import problem. My issues are with the latest update of the Daz to Blender bridge. I used to be able to import poses onto my figures after I edited the .py blender file with a couple lines of code, "fix". The new update has broken pose imports from what I can see. Pose imports do not work with the new bridge on the last 5 versions of Blender. Yes, I tested them. Also, Gen 8 and 8.1 figures import in with their shoulders distorted. Also, the converted 8 to 9 RSSY figures with body, eye suits do not import in at all. With these body suits applied, nothing at all imports into Blender. This is unfortunate because it would be nice to use Gen 8 and 8.1 skin textures on Gen 9 figures in Blender.

This is a confirmed bug and is analogous to the bug ocuring with Unreal here: https://github.com/daz3d/DazToUnreal/issues/44

For now, please try this work-around:

  1. Move eye suit, mouth suit, eyelash suit and any other child of your G9 character to the Material Suit
  2. Select the Material Suit node
  3. Use File -> Send To -> Daz To Blender on the Material Suit Node instead of parent node.

RSSY Gen 8 converted to 9 exported to Blender error message I loaded the figure that RSSY converted from Gen 8 to 9. Then I dragged all of the nodes into the bodysuit folder. Selected the bodysuit folder and sent to Blender. This is the error message I got. This seems to happen with all of my figures using the bodysuit. As for poses I got them to work by loading them in Blender, per the instructions you sent. They work marvelous for gen 8, gen 8.1 and gen 9! No problem detected. Great work on the bridge! It will be great when a figure that is already posed can be sent over the bridge but for now this works great! My biggest issues right now are glass not bridging right and emissive lights and fire not working. Also strand based hair does not seem to import right. But I am really excited about eyes being fixed and the poses loading beautifully!

I did some testing of loading mesh scenes last night. I think the biggest problem with loading Iray mesh scenes is the texture conversion process. I sent a scene over the bridge to Blender and the water texture did work and the ground texture had a scaling problem. The ground plane it did not tile but only once. So the ground was all pixelated. I am not sure how to tile a texture in Blender yet. This seems rather minor in the sense that the reason why I am doing this is to learn Blender and it has given me an opportunity to learn Blender while I work on my scenes. I could not get the converted Gen 8 to 9 characters to go across the bridge. But this is not a real problem as I can now use Gen 8, 8.1 and 9 characters with no issues. I am so excited to use this product now! I am also wondering if VDBs, fire meshes and emissives will work over the bridge. So, it seems the texture conversion process is what I am looking forward to understanding more. Also it would be nice if when exporting a mesh scene over the bridge if it would also export the HDRI sky with it. Keep up the great work this is awesome! I noticed that when exporting figures over the bridge, if you have a failed attempt, it can leave some garbage in the cache that will corrupt the next conversion. If I close down Blender and reopen it and attempt to import a second time it will correct that issue. Usually the corruption issue only the shoulders get distorted. But being able to just try a second time and it is fixed this is another thing that is awesome!

Morningstar wings won't accept a pose in Blender.
