New DazToMaya Update has issues #37

Hey wanted to let you know about some issues.

So it seems that the Morph controller in Maya is not correctly loading all the morphs and it is not connecting to the blendshapes node at all. Not sure what happened in the last release but not even the main Daz central one is working. I tried all that you mentioned uninstalling reinstalling, Basically, in some cases, the blends are not transferring over. In the event that they do, they are not working or connected to the morph controller. I have a couple of characters where the blends will come over but they don't work as if no information is being baked. Also, there is no control or button for Auto JCMs, those get imported regardless, and they still don't work.

Let me know how I can help

Thanks for your detailed report!

  1. Can you send a screenshot of your Morph Selection dialog from Daz Studio? Can you send a screenshot of the Morph controller's Attribute Editor pane with Extra Attributes opened? Can you send a screenshot of your Shape Editor window?
  2. Please clarify if the blendshapes are only missing in the Morph Controller UI, or if they are also missing from the actual shape themselves. See attached images.
  3. In order to prepare for JCM support, Morph "Parent" controls that modify "Child" morphs are examined to see if their "Child" morphs are also being exported at the same time as the "Parent". If this condition exists, then the "Parent" controller is stripped of direct control of any exported "Child" morphs so that it is not "double-dipping" by modifying it's child morph AND its own morph. Perhaps this is what you are seeing. In order to verify this, just export a morph by itself and see if it operates correctly.
    • For now, the work-around is to set BOTH "Parent" and "Child" morph controls manually to get the full effect of the "Parent" morph.
  4. JCM is not yet implemented. I'm not sure why the JCMs are getting automatically exported for you. Please check the "Show FBX Dialog" in the Daz Studio bridge window, then click Accept. In the FBX Export Options window, please click "Edit Morph Export Rules..." Then take a screenshot of the FBX Morph Export Rules window.

I am in the process of adding JCM support and "Parent" controller support, so that the Parent controls will intelligently modify Child controls without "double-dipping". Hopefully these changes will fix most of your problems.

Thanks!
