Yes, I managed to resolve the issue by downgrading to Laravel 5.0. I look forward to an update though, and I love what you have done. Just a quick question? Is it possible to split the chat in such a way that we can have chats tied to certain user account levels? For example, managers can chat only with managers (both public and private), and the same for normal users and super Admins?
Sounds about right! Seems a lot changed under the hood for such a small number change from 5.0 to 5.1.
In regards to your question there is nothing baked in for that kind of interaction as the package knows nothing about the roles in your application and considers all users equal. Some role based functionality could be added but it would require significant changes in the JS and PHP, and, honestly, I would consider it too application specific to add as out of the box functionality for the package.

I have successfully installed the package and configured it according to the instructions you have provided, however, whenever I try to initiate a conversation with another person who's available online, I get no response/ reaction from the click. On checking the console I am getting the following error:
