Net Damage Only Taking Cards from the Sides #606

When I was playing (vs Jinteki RP think), I was taking a lot of net damage, but every time it either discarded from left end or right end, never middle. Is this fixable/just a coincidence? (IK this is second issue within hour, I just made github acount and want to ask.)
