I want to prank a friend with the rickroll payload, however I want to know how I can stop this attack. Does a restart stop it?

It depends on the payload being used but usually ALT + F4 or killing the process in the task manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESC) should stop it. If rebooting doesn't work it's a hell of a rickroll.
