Advice for junior developers trying to get a visa in the US #8

This comes up pretty often. It's hard(er) to get a visa when you're a junior. Expand this into an article.

It's unlikely that a startup will go through the motions of interviewing you remotely and bringing you here, however smart or capable you may be. We would think 10 times before doing it, and would never do it for a junior developer, it's too much money and risk. But a bigger company will always be happy to do it. I think the right approach is to try the Facebook/Google/Amazon/Microsoft/LinkedIn's out there.

Another one:

I'm hoping to move to NYC after I'm done with University in the UK. I much prefer America, and I feel the tech industry there far outpaces the UK. Any tips for a Graduate wanting to immigrate to NYC as a software engineer?
