What are the merits of SIO_000628 vs oa:SemanticTag?

From http://semanticscience.org/ontology/sio.owl I see that

refers to/ns3:label ns4:subsetnlp+/ns4:subset ns4:subsetcore/ns4:subset refers to is a relation between one entity and the entity that it makes reference to./ns0:description ns0:identifierSIO_000628/ns0:identifier /rdf:Description Whereas http://www.openannotation.org/spec/core/core.html#Tagging says oa:SemanticTag Class [subClass of oa:Tag] A class assigned to the Body when it is a semantic tagging resource; a URI that identifies a concept, rather than an embedded string, frequently a term from a controlled vocabulary

To further the discussion - what are the merits of the SemanticScience ontology for this use case? We use them in other annotation projects for "mentions" "refers to" and maybe some other predicates. But, these might be better represented by OA or MP predicates

Closing as no current issue.

We are still using SIO as a legacy from Domeo. We will need to consider modeling going forward.
