Pokemon Silver - Time resets upon loading ROM #77

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start VBA-Wii.
2. Load Pokemon Silver ROM.
3. Continue a previously saved game. The game will ask you to
enter/confirm the time as it may be incorrect.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see my game load without the enter/confirm time dialogue
popping up before the game is loaded. Instead, the please enter/confirm
time dialogue comes up.

Does this issue occur on VBA-M r781 (http://vba-
m.ngemu.com/vbam/vbacompiles/msvc2008/VisualBoyAdvance781.7z)? If so,
please report the issue to the VBA-M forum.
Not sure. (May test later.)

What version of the product are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
Latest version (as of April 5 2009). Wii.

Please provide any additional information below.

This bug is not serious, and the game can be continued after re-entering
the time. (When entering the time, the correct time is showed in the time
configuration dialogue.) It's just annoying.

Installed VBA-Wii through the Homebrew Browser application a week ago.

Could someone change the priority to 'Low' as this bug does not cause a crash
or
some other serious side-effect.

Also, I'll post pictures/videos if needed.

Did the bug occur in version 1.0.7?

I don't know if it is related to changes I made to the Real Time Clock (which
also
handles the Solar Sensor in Boktai, the Rumble Motor in Drill Dozer and
WarioWare
Twisted, and the WarioWare Twisted gyro.

Well, the bug was there when I first tried the emulator, which is when I
downloaded
it from the Homebrew Browser a week ago. The Homebrew Browser's App List on
WiiBrew
says that the most recent version of VBA-Wii at that time would be 1.0.7. So
yes, it
did. It also occurs in version 1.0.9.

No, it's not related to changes I made.
Pokemon Silver is a Gameboy Colour game, and has completely different Real Time
Clock
code.

We might fix this eventually, but not now.
