Add Winbond W83L771 support for Zotac IONITX motherboards #311

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I expect to see the motherboard details, along with the temperatures onboard. I
see instead 'To be Filled by OEM', and no other details. When I use SpeedFan or
another temperature program, it shows Local, Remote, and Ambient just fine. I
ran as Administrator, and even tried to use the open source to detect it, same
result.

I'm using OHM 4.0 on Windows Xp 32-bit

What kind of hardware is this (mainboard?)

Can you post reports / dumps of other tools where you get sensor data from the
mainboard?

The motherboard is a Zotac IONITX.

Do you know where to find the dumps from other programs? (SpeedFan,etc). I
attached screenshots, but I doubt they will be much help.

This mainboard seems to use a Winbond W83L771, which is attached to the SMBus.
This is currently not supported by the Open Hardware Monitor, because we do not
support the SMBus at all atm. Once SMBus support has been added one can start
looking into adding support for this.

We will need a datasheet for the Winbond W83L771 as well.

Thank you very much for the datasheet. I have already some prototype SMBus
code, I will have to see how much work is needed to complete it and add support
for this chip.
