Having assignments with deadlines that have passed shown in Your reminders was intentional. This is because we felt that in the event the user has an overdue assignment but wants to do a late submission for the assignment, they should still be able to set reminders for the overdue assignment. Hence we felt it was not necessary to remove overdue assignments from the user's Your reminders in the event they would still like to be reminded to finish their overdue assignemnts.
Bug severity is also changed from High to Medium as displaying the user's overdue assignments in Your reminders does not cause the product to be unusable (crash etc). Hence the bug severity is changed to Medium as it would only cause occasional inconvenience to the user in the event this is indeed a feature flaw.

Reminders should show items with deadlines that are in the future because one does not need to be reminded of past tasks. Not sure if this was intended too! A quick fix could be done using the filter methods to only filter dates that are after current date in java before rendering
