Playing with Proxies #51

Open easilyBaffled opened 6 years ago

Your Name: Danny Michaelis

Your twitter handle: @easilyBaffled - nothing interesting there A few words about yourself: I am a Javascript developer with Lab49. I primarly stick with the front-end, finding ways to bend the language to my whims. This often involves using the metaprograming api's to manipulate code in ways people would think of.

Talk title: You wouldn't know a Proxy if it smacked you in the face.

Talk abstract: Proxies are a strange little part of ES6 that most people aren't aware of. They are invisible layers that let you rewrite some core aspects of objects. I'd like to introduce the concept to people and inspire everyone to exeriment with them.

Expected length: 10-15min

Available months: All of Them

We meet on the second Thursday of the month generally. You can use this handy-dandy list to check dates:

@easilyBaffled Any interest in giving this session along with a couple other lightning talks (15 mins each) on Jun 14th?

easilyBaffled commented 6 years ago

@easilyBaffled We're all set for tomorrow night! Looking forward to your talk!

@easilyBaffled Are you good for me to reschedule your talk for August 9th? Also, want to shoot me your email address? I'm my name at gmail.com

easilyBaffled commented 5 years ago

@elgreg hey, I sent you an email, but just in case... I am going to be missing the August meetup, I will be on a plane to Disney World. Sorry. But I don't want to leave you with nothing. One of my coworkers, @samuelneff, has an open proposal for DCJS https://github.com/dcjs/talks/issues/43. If you would like, he said that he could probably cut the talk down to 15 minutes. I hope that helps.
