I have sort of a weird use case here, but maybe it will apply in other situations too. This specific question comes from the Rheem integration change, but it got me to thinking. (which is dangerous)
I am not sure exactly how this would look, or how this would work, but is there some way to stop, delay, or defer updates on a per-app or per-driver basis?
So I have the older Rheem integration. It is still working fine for me. I don't want to update it, maybe temporarily, because the app is under development. Maybe there are too many or too significant changes in a day/week so that I don't want to deal with them right now. (not exactly the case here, but close enough)
Maybe there is an app or driver I don't want update because it breaks some functionality, but the author is actively pushing multiple updates. For whatever reason I don't want to deal with the update for this particular app/driver right now.
So if I have something matched in HPM, there isn't a way to delay or stop a particular app/driver from being updated. If I do auto updates, I have no choice in what gets updated. If I manually update, I can select or deselect particular updates, but there is always a risk of accidentally selecting the wrong item.
Similarly, if I have Beta updates checked in HPM settings, I cannot opt out of seeing Beta per app/driver, it is all or nothing. So I want Beta from package A but not B, and I have auto updates checked, I might get something I totally didn't want. Maybe there wasn't a Beta and the author decides to push one without much warning.
I am not sure un-matching the app/driver is what I want as I still want to update at some point. That also wouldn't help the unexpected Beta situation above, and maybe that is a whole different request. I don't want to stop ALL updates from a particular developer either, just one particular package.
So I guess I am looking for a way to defer or turn off updates on a per package basis. This would be particularly useful feature if people use auto updates.
Sorry, I missed this. This actually already exists. Well kinda... the opposite exists. You can specify which apps you DO want to auto update. So just check everything except the Rheem app in your example.
