map keeps zooming completely out & line tool will not turn off once clicked on. #820

when I tried using the line tool I couldn't figure out how to turn it off so 
that it wouldn't continue making new points. also is there a way to keep check 
points clearly marked on the map widget & the level of zoom saved so that it 
doesn't default to full zoom-out?

The map zoom doesn't seem to be kept synchronized among different users

In the latest version of the gadget, I have added a tooltip to make it clear 
how to end a line (click the final point).

As for the shared viewport settings, please star this issue:
