Wave does not work at ALL in Opera. You can check it

Last I checked, it wasn't meant to... Wave only supports safari, firefox & 
chrome. 

Try installing chrome frame.

I will mark this an Embed API issue, as it affects users of the Embed API.

As Nat noted, we do not support Opera yet in the Google Wave client.
