Redherring v2 #14

I put together a v2 using pi pico, intended to reduce costs and build complexity. (Largely based on my experience building the current version).

I had to use a 9x10 grid due to the pin limitations on the pico - so smooshing 16x6 into 9x10 made the pcb routing ugly.

Would you be interested in adding this to the main repo as a V2? If not, I'd be happy to further mangle it and spin it out as a separate project. I removed the herringbone patterns that were prominent in v1, so it would kinda make sense to split this into a different project - or maybe add non-functional diode/herringbone embelishments?

I'd like to get your input before i send out a test board for production.

I'm not 100% on the RGB and solenoid power config, I still have to do some math/reading the docs there.

Here's a brief overview of what's changed and why: https://github.com/JellyTitan/redherring/pull/new/redherring_v2

Wow, this is really amazing work! It IS a pretty big departure from the original design philosophy, so here are my thoughts. One option is to rename the directory v2 so that it's more clear that the PCB and case are a new form factor, and won't be compatible with the existing design. I'm thinking something like slim or easy, and in there would be its own README that outlines the differences. The other option would be to just fork the repo and start a new project, like you mentioned. I'll leave it up to you.

Thanks! It totally makes sense to present it as a variant, as opposed to a V2. I'll rebrand it and resubmit in a few weeks after I validate the prototype.
