Consistent naming for carriers #156

Open Pixinger opened 3 years ago

Hi

When having the super carrier enabled, the carrier TACAN is reporting the identifier STN. As the carrier is - as far as I have seen - the Theodore Roosevelt, most of the players would expect THR.

Keep up the good work Kind reagards Pix

@RndName I see this moved to in-progress, but don't see any commits here. Has anything been done for this? We're getting pretty low on to-do items in the 6.0.0 list, so I'm looking for features that should be moved to 7.

I have an unfinished feature branch on my local machine which allows to define the TACAN Callsign from the unit yaml and from the faction file. To be honest i think i forgot about this one as i was asking on the discord for the "correct" TACAN callsigns without getting any response. There seems to be no real demand for that feature at all. Totally fine to shift this one off to the next version back into the backlog

The randomization of the TACAN in the aircraft and in the briefing is an annoyance more than anything. I cannot determine the mechanism in which the Campaign or Faction files declare the carrier in use, so I am assuming this is hard-set in the .miz file directly. From that standpoint, I would think that the TACAN configuration/scripting, unless Liberation has to overwrite it for some reason, should stand?
