In Iran full, we start from UAE to go to Iran, but once the first part is done, how can we cross the strait of Hormuz, or capture the islands ?

Well it looks like there is no way to do it. We cant capture bases if we cant send ground forces.

Khopa commented 3 years ago

The only way is to cheat your way through it, by putting ally ground units in the ME on the airfield you want to land in.

For later, I have an idea about using using the LHA/Helicopter carriers ships for naval invasion, but this is far from being implemented yet.

This is still a valid issue with the project, i re-open it.

Other ideas:

Should probably do all three at some point. Not sure which is the easiest to do first.

Carrier and Tarawa ships can now be moved around on the campaign map (2.3 preview) It's a first step toward naval invasion :)

I would like to request if it would be possible to add task for the Hercules for "airborne assault" so they can drop paratroopers or vehicles to support an assault in specific location or target? I can do such maneuvers in the Mission editor but would be nice to be able to use the awesome and unique capabilities of the Hercules for this directly in Liberation. I am always doing this with human pilots but I believe the AI can also perform paradrops easily. This type of "airborne assault" mission may also require an a support "escort" mission from fighters.
