Is this different than having the campaigns defined in mission editor?

It'd be a lower effort (and lower control) version of the same, I think. Given that there's already a fairly accessible way of doing this I wouldn't put it high up on the todo list, but it seems like it would be useful if we somehow ran out of other work.
Liberation has gone further away from this idea towards more creator-curated campaigns. Do we want to keep this FR open?
I think so. It's still pretty low on the list given that you can cheat capture your way to accomplishing the same thing, but there's still value if someone feels like doing it.
Whilst I'm throwing requests at you, another idea I had was for a Dynamic mission start scenario. With this one, the user would select the factions, then the map but with a 'custom start positions' checkbox filled. The map would then be presented with the nodes, and the player could switch the nodes between Red and Blue.
For Example, in the Western Caucasus map, the nodes would all be shown, but the player could switch the nodes for Sochi, Gudauta, and Sukhumi to Russia, and the rest as Georgia to reflect their desired starting position for the 2008 Georgian conflict.
I figured this was you also could help players achieve historical starting scenarios without having to script them in. It could also potentially lead to interesting 'break out' scenarios with the players' side surrounded on all sides with the maps that have branches to support this.
