@walterroach I have a bunch of books and FMs regarding modern Russian (also a generic OPFOR) and late cold war soviet tactics and organization. Let me know if I can be of assistance with this, I'm happy to provide some reference material to help you build this out!

Precursor - I'm not a military expert, so please apologize if there are some mistakes or misunderstandings on naming and/or structure. This should simply help guiding the design.

I tried to create a UI mockup in MS Paint :-) based on a modern US Army Armor Company image

As a first iteration, I'd suggest to only create the platoon level - this should give enough freedom to create mixed platoons/companies based on the faction/timeline setup at a later stage.

The idea is to either use the NATO symbology also used in DCS or have a symbol picture similar to the aircraft management UI - could be an option (e.g. "Use NATO symbology")

Once that is done, an additional tab could be created for "Companies", where the player can select and arrange companies, based on the currently available platoons.

What would be also fun, are SFO Scouts with EPLRS, that could move towards the enemy hold and just target them, like dynamic JTAC units. Not sure which aircraft besides the A-10C II can pick up this data, but for the Warthog it would be great for picking up TOOs.

I also have a bunch of FMs and docs with USSR and modern Russian ORBATs if this is the direction we want to go in.
