ERROR: Cannot encode character ... Cannot build MSA #57

Hi,

I was not able to run model testing, because of this error:


Physical cores: 3
Logical cores:  6
Memory:         15.6GB
Extensions:     AVX

ERROR 114: Cannot encode character Q at sequence 1 position 302.
modeltest: Cannot build MSA
zsh: exit 114   modeltest-ng -i aligned.mafft.fa -t ml

I tried with alignments generated by different programs and I was always getting this message "Cannot encode character X ...". Do you have idea what might be wrong?

I had this same issue this morning, make sure you have aa specified after -d instead of nt
