I'm not exactly keen in piling more features onto Nextcloud while we're still running on SQLite. Reason: Nextcloud was not designed to run on it, and in installations with more than a few users it could start behaving very sluggishly.
Using SQLite as database ensures each user's database entries are stored in his profile, which is nice, but would there be any other good reason why we cannot run it on Postgres? I suppose forking the project is an option, but maybe we can debate it here first?
I have since looked at running Nextcloud on Postgres and it seems pretty simple. However, there may be issue with the other components.
@ddavness, have you encountered any specific problems or have you never run this all on postgres instead of sqlite?
Never ran on postgres yet. That's still on the table but not the priority right now. Part of the reason could also be related to "how will we migrate"?
I have forked PMiaB, so I can play with the config, but I don't have a lot of time available to do so and will have to upskill somewhat before I can be of value. However, I intend to try :-)
Has anyone installed Nextcloud Office, the Collabora Online client that uses the Collabora Online CODE Server to facilitate inline editing of Open Document formatted materials?
I have installed both, but it seems one needs to make some adjustments to the nginx config.
However, since this is maintained by the PMIAB installation script, I suppose manually adjusting this config will break the installation script or at the least remove the additional configuration when an update is done?
It would be really nice to have this running, since I'm looking to create a full Office 365 replacement for myself with this.
