Sent mail from Android 9 via Generic mail doesn't send mail, neither stores it #126

Android v 9 E-mail app 8.0.11 I have noticed that if I respond from my mobile to an email received via one of my mallboxes on PMIAB, I get a message that the mail was sent successfully, but it's never received by the addressed party, nor is a copy stored in my send mail.

However, this work perfectly from Thunderbird on my desktop.

As a test I added the same IMAP account to my Google email client on the same phone. The message goes to the outbox and stays there with a queued status for a long time (15 minutes) and then leaves the outbox to go to the same nowhere land as the mail from the other email client. It doesn't arrive at the recipient either. The mail from the google mail client does land up in the sent folder on the server though!

Does this behaviour ring a bell with anyone here? I realise this may not be PMIAB specific, but I have to start somewhere in addressing this.

I have found this: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/42066/e-mails-sent-from-android-not-syncing-to-imap-sent-folder

I seems the IMAP folder names must be exactly as the client expects, otherwise mail connect we sent.

I'm switching to the Exchange protocol and hopefully that will not suffer from the same deficiency.
