weatheralerts_1 sensor says unavailable during NWS alert #3

I added the sensor in my config.yaml as instructed. image

We had an NWS alert today, and the sensor just stayed as unavailable. If I try to embed the sensor information into the weatheralerts_1.yaml like this: image The sensor.weatheralerts_1 is unavailable BUT sensor.weatheralerts_1_2 shows the alert: image

I waited for 10 minutes or so to see if anything would update but nothing changed. What am I missing?

Did you put the weatheralerts_1.yaml in the packages folder? You have to do that for this to work the way it's supposed to

Sure. I used to use the weather alerts package that's found in HACS, so I am familiar with its setup. I can't get past the sensor issues.

Did you ever get this working? I've been trying to replicate your issue for weeks and can't get it to happen

Unfortunately, no. Not sure if it's because I originally was using the other weatheralerts that was in HACS. I tried uninstalling it and purging my recorder. I guess I can try spinning up a brand new HAOS on a VM and trying to install your version to rule out corruption. I'd rather use yours since its being maintained. I'll keep you posted.

So, I did what I said. I got a new HAOS up and running, installed HACS and weatheralerts. It seems to be perfectly fine. Now I have no NWS alerts in my area, but the number of alerts is 0 and not UNKOWN. With that said, it seems its some kind of corruption from the previous version I had installed. Not sure how I can fix that.
