daemon doesn't start #6

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the novacom driver
2. run the daemon /opt/Palm/novacom/novacomd

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Not sure but I see plenty of error messages:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version available to download. Gentoo Linux 64bits

Please provide any additional information below.
It used to work. Not sure what happened.
