One issue with CBC data is multiple counting of birds in the same area (seen by different observers at different times e.g. on an out and back route. Another issue is with Raptors and other large birds. It is hard to keep track of them well unless everyone takes the same data. We've been focusing in on the minimal data necessary to accurately count Raptors and Large birds:
All Species / Raptors Large birds / details | Number | Time | Flight direction | Plumage / Sex / Age / Notes
These data should be placed in the memo for each observation, the eBird CBC program can export these data in the CSV and we can access them that way, but it may also be nice to figure out further functionality to make comparing raptors and large birds easier.
