I got some feedback from Tony who was installing his brother's farm. In setting up a 2024 crop year it would be helpful to have the option to automatically input all the assumptions from the prior 2023 year. If we were to do this, we'd have to think about this pretty carefully. But I'm guessing it would include all of the farm specific information on the first input screen, all the farm input information about crop insurance on the second screen, the same (but updated) crop budget for 2024 (i.e. Central Il Low Rotating), grain marketing would have to be redone by the farmer for the new year with no contracts inputted although basis assumptions could carry over from the prior year, title assumptions including base acres, elections and PLC yields could carry over from the prior year. I don't see this as a MUST HAVE but maybe a LIKE TO HAVE option and am loathe to do things that might introduce problems into the model. But wanted to pass along the request by this "New Issue"
