But will this PR ever be reviewed, let alone merged, or is it just for decoration at this point?

This is an open source project where the author is volunteering their time.
Yes, and I am more than grateful for every open-source project I get to use. However, at this point, the time contributors spend crafting bug fixes, new features, or even general improvements seems to be better spent otherwise. Repositories with months-old pull requests without meaningful interactions give off vibes of abandonment, turning away potential contributors. I do understand the problem of limited time and resources, but at this point, it is frustrating seeing this project slowly fade into unusability. I contributed upstream to make this project even better and would like to do so in the future. But without any communication it is hard to see a point in making the effort and spending all the time it takes to develop something that inevitably will just sit there, unmerged.
I am sorry to rant like this and to go so far off-topic and will thus not continue this discussion in this thread. So let me rephrase my original question: Is this project abandoned at this point and does this necessitate a fork?
The linked pull request is 3 weeks old, not months old. People have lives and other priorities that you have no idea what is happening. Most people using rmfakecloud have either made the tweaks they need, or are staying at 2.15 until other stuff that is tied in catches up first.
Passive-aggressive comments on something that someone is doing for free, that is already open source, so you can do whatever you want with it is never okay. It only serves to drive people away from wanting to work on it.
No, this project is not abandoned, along with the other related projects, of which, one had a minor update 3 weeks ago. This update still stands: https://github.com/ddvk/remarkable-hacks/issues/496#issuecomment-1516597740
Feel free to fork away, this is open source with a licence that allows you to fork whenever you want. The PR already is from a fork that contains the changes, you can build that.
@daniel-naegele did #243 resolve this for you?
The newest docker image seemes to work for me :+1:
Whenever I try syncing my tablet, it starts after a while and syncs the first ~60 of 452 items and then stops. The UI says Network Error: 404.
In the server logs I can see a call to the url "/api/sync/v3/root". If I curl the url, a 404 pops up.
