"Show log" shows nothing #206

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. block an app and try to use it seeing it fails internet connecting.
2. select "Show log" in DroidWall and see nothing.
3. whitelist same app and see that i can use it.
4. select "Show log" in DroidWall and see nothing.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expect some sort of logging info for at least blocked apps.
i see "Log is empty".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.5.4. android 2.3.4 (atrix 4g 4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US)

Please provide any additional information below.
also, "adb logcat DroidWall:V *:S" is extremely uninformative. i'd love to have
it show me logging info of what is blocked, for example.

Could you please post here the ouput of "Show rules"?
Screen shots are fine, since that is too much to type ;)
thanks

it's complaining (FATAL) about missing modules.dep. I don't have any modules,
anyway.

creating that file (and directory) got rid of that error message, and the new
output seems correct, but still no logs when I block k9 or do anything else.
it'd be two many screenshots.

Some kernels does not support the the iptables LOG target... on that case your
log will always be empty.
It is possible to check if it is supported from the output of "Show Rules" but
I would need the screen shots.
