@NotAColdSun, a binary file is gibberish because the data in it is designed for the machine to read and not for humans.

If the file has some character that doesn't fit in the codec encoding table and shows the Binary pop up msg And the reason you're seeing that message is probably because the file is corrupted (malware attack?) Or you're trying to open wrong file format. Like MS word doc (binary) file in text editor.
