Compass erratic #262

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opening compass view produces non-working compass.

What is expected? What do you get instead?
Expect fluid alignment to N-S.  Getting erratic movements and no reliable 
alignment. Eventually will quickly jump to north if held still for several 
seconds.

What version of the product are you using?
1.6

Please provide any additional information below.
Installed on HTC Incredible 2. Other compass apps work fine.
