issues with Logitech Options mouse driver under Windows 10 #568

Open Rolands71 opened 4 years ago

Operating Systems

Server: Windows 10 1809 Client: Windows 10 1903

Barrier Version

2.3.2

Steps to reproduce bug

Just for information.

After installing the latest Version of Logitech Options mouse driver Version 8.10.84 all sorts if issues happen on my client PC. I use a Logitech Ergo MX Trackball and both PC's. The most annoying was that the scroll function of my mouse wheel sporadically won't work on the client PC. I cloud fix this by going to the Firefox browsers on my host, scroll up and down and go back to the client. Then it is working again for some time. I also experienced that the clipboard wasn't transferred to client PC properly all the time. Some copies were missing in the clipboard. The issues seemed to start with the latest Logitech Options Software.

All issues could be fixed by removing the Logitech option software.

This appears to be the Logitech Options software: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/options

In the "Point & Scroll" section, set "Smooth scrolling" disabled. In my case this solve the problem.

Then you leios76! I was running into the same issue and disabling "smooth scrolling" resolved my issue as well.

Also had this issue, glad I found the right keyword. Problem is also solved by disabling smooth scrolling. I will mention "mousewheel" and "scrollwheel" just so it's easier for others to find :)

Probably should add to wiki.

Since it’s unlikely that the behemoth that is logitech will change, perhaps this program could detect options and if it’s in-use, warn the user?

Just wanted to say that this saved me a lot of headaches and registry editing. I love the keyboard/tocuhpad hardware, but the software makes this nearly untenable. Disabling smooth scrolling fixed the issue for me using barrier from Windows 10 pro with a mac and a linux client on either side. Thank you to those who took the time to document the issue in detail.
