Revert Ratings issue

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I hit the rate button not knowing the "Rate only unrated songs" box was not 
checked by default. When I went to revert the ratings it is taking forever to 
do. I have tried 4 times and I leave it running for like 14 hrs and when I come 
back there's only like 200 songs completed. Out of 6600. What can I do to speed 
this up?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Reverted Ratings. Nothing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Newest, 
Mac OSX 10.5.8

Please provide any additional information below.

I was able to rewind the changes because Itunes actually creates an automatic 
backup xml file. That plus the info in this article: 
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451 will fix it.

Although that seems to have created other problems. Now it thinks this is a 
different itunes library than the one on the phone and it was to redo 
everything on the phone. Also all of the apps have disappeared from my itunes. 
I'm worried that doing the resync will erase all my apps.
