First character is not recognized when typing after keyboard navigation to a cell

Describe the bug

The character which is entered first after keyboard navigation to a cell is not entered into the cell. For example, typing This only yields his. See demo:

Steps to reproduce

1. Keyboard navigate to a cell so that it is highlighted
2. Type something
3. Observe that the first character is missing

Expected behavior

Entering information into a cell is supposed to start immediately upon typing after keyboard navigation to a cell.
