I have seen a gallery plugin that uses that syntax. Where are you placing your links? In the frontmatter or in the body of the notes? Or both?

Tried both

syntax only works for online images when used in the body of the text, displaying correctly as a cover image (regardless of whether the "Load social media image" option is enabled). However, it doesn't work with local image paths (neither relative nor absolute paths).![[path]]
syntax works correctly for local images, both in the body of the text and in the frontmatter.
Migrating from other gallery plugins, my embeded image written in standard Markdown format fail to display as cover in Grid View.

👈this is okI use wiki links elsewhere, but some of my notes are created externally and do not support wiki link templates.
So if it supports standard Markdown format, it will have better compatibility like other gallery plugins.
