SUREAL District #34

Introduction:

This will be the district that is out of the boundaries or what you know as our physical world. Out of body experiences, magic, new laws of physics, mystical encounters, anything goes.

Project lead: I am Aris the project lead, a developer that has a love for sci-fi and the sureal. I am also involved in other futuristic blockchain projects.

Goal:

I believe that science fiction does not encompass the sureal but just gives us a glimpse of the future. Decentraland is sci-fi in itself. We should augment it with other forms of reality that are only available through VR platforms.

Team: Currently the team is a one person team but I really want to attract people that think this is a good idea and build this together. Wealth can be generated from people that will pay to discover the sureal world, artists, workshops that teach about the inner workings of the mind and spirituality and many more.

Update: I will not be able to actively organize the community, this is a proposal I wish it flourishes and becomes a nice place for people to visit but I have work obligations. Please feel free to step up and become an organizer/lead for this project.

Ok... we gotta start somewhere.. to get the ball rolling and get to know what we are able to contribute in a way ...

I myself have some experience in c# , 3D design (Creo), Graphics, multimedia ,photoshop, ..

Sounds like a fantastic idea. Everyone get behind this. I'm all for a surreal district, utilizing the capabilities of virtual reality to create an experience in art!

VR like this can present an out of the box destination for individuals using hallucinogenics and would be a powerful selling point if marketed appropriately and approached respectfully.

Burning Man festival should be an artistic reference and could consider linking up with their live stream to provide VR connectivity to the actual festival also. These things are crucial to target for brand awareness

there is another proposal for festivals though but why not. Can people post here their skills so we can see if we could build something? I am afraid I don't have the time/skills to pull this off alone or with a few people

I specialize in marketing and operations and would be helpful on developing a sustainable monetization strategy which solely promotes the culture of this district. I believe the best route for profit here is for all of us initial adopters to buy and hodl $MANA as an investment separately from what we are investing into the districts because the user growth + experience is far more important out of the gate than any revenues the districts can produce initially. We all will profit from value growth of $MANA due to a Decentraland that carries real demand so this district (early on) should be entirely focused on quality of experience and avoid any "selling" which could disrupt the experience and district culture.

Hello, I'm finally deciding where to pick up some land, and this is one of the proposals I am interested in. Since hearing about this project back in the Summer, I've wanted somewhere to be able to govern the physics and scaling on my own land parcels to be able to provide unique experiences.

As far as skills to bring to the table, I'm pretty experienced in Java, and have been gaining experience in agile development. I'm not much of an artist, but I can program.

Thanks for the update. I'll be getting a few plots of land in the district, and I'll try to stay in touch maybe on Rocket Chat. As we get closer the new year, hopefully my work schedule will open up too. Happy creating!

I have an mba in finance, love behavioral economics, used to sell Aston Martin's for a living, am giving my life to the b'chain and think this is a top 3 district HANDS DOWN!

I don't know a thing about programming - but if we need prices set, a model of scalability, networking, and a load of imagination I'd love to be a part of this with you all.

@arisAlexis your words are few, but the possibilities here are endless. I know this district, can be a HUGE driver of traffic to DCL and a money machine to boot.

I'm so in! I just contributed 1 Land. I plan to do more, but what happens when the district is made? Do we get to control our own land?

As previously mentioned due to a lack of time I wanted for another person to step up and be the leader here. Happily user @Talesiansiddha will take this place. I hope this district will prosper :) I am still interested in the idea and will get involved if I find sufficient time. Good luck!

Is anyone on here still interested in this District? I don't want to make any big decisions on this area by myself. I would love to get more feedback from those of you that have put money into this.

 Great. I just want to get a consensus of what the community wants to do with our territory. I'm not sure if we should keep it or join up with District Magic. They seem tip have a similar vision.

Hey what's up everyone. Now that the auction is complete we can move on with the next phase. We can let the quality of VR land and building development continue across decentraland while we decide what to do here exactly but I would vote for each of us to be able to develop our own parcels here at first with a strict surreal protocol then we can vote on the next merging steps as a weighted democracy by ownership giving whoever leads this district some sort of executive authority in vote ties. This ecosystem does best if we have many groups at first doing distinct concepts then the best ones will naturally rise. We can all just focus on a landscape of the surreal like the write-up said then can vote and merge after we have something worthwhile.

There are lots of surreal art and movies/shows which should be a fair background for reference as we get into this lets all just try our best on the development then vote and if people wish to outsource the work let them go right ahead because we all gain value that way.

AT this point I am thinking of making this a private District for artists to create and show off their work. Down the line I would like to have places to showcase and sell their works, too. Right now I'm trying to come up with ways to generate revenue so we can develop the land once we have access to it.

Alright everyone. It has taken me much longer than expected to get this done. I have not really been able to contact those that contributed to this district. If you have contributed to Sureal then please join the conversation and check out our new Proposal. We need to have a majority of land contributors vote to approve this proposal before we can get our lands.
