One idea floated among the group is to simply lease the Genesis City land early, until we see how the City develops and we can narrow down development plans. Pooling land in one large tract will demand greater lease rates than many small lots.
What would lessees do with the land? Idea sounds good
The exact strategy will be completely up to the group to decide, and will be discussed within the next 24 hours through email and/or slack. Dev plans depend on a few factors, include size of final combined tract, location to city center, dev skills by members, etc.
So have some thoughts
If we want to keep the value of the land we all put into this concept We need to ensure that we do not lose land under our agreement. The goal IMO would be to always expand the holdings of the collective group We should all give the group first refusal rights before selling LAND on the open market
we may even want to look into creating a "bank" of sorts where we all could pool MANA to buy up unwanted land
There is the potential that if everything does not go off smoothly post auction, many spec positions will be liquidated for much less than auction prices In this instance I think it would be wise to buy up as much of that LAND as possible
I love this idea. Great stuff Grub!

I'm sure things will develop. exciting times!
is not it strange that more than a whole day is not this district on offer for registrations? neo tokyo posted the issue just a moment earlier and already has 8 districts, and while we waiting to be published, mana contributions has increased by 25%
I do not think it is
what do you mean

I'm not sure, but I asked on chat.decentraland and the unclear reactions of admin showed that the publication of other districts it is no longer interested
our district is "Unofficial" and not sanctioned by the dev team. We are the only unified district within Genesis City

that's nice, but how do you get the parcels?
we will coordinate our bids and buy adjoining parcels!

however, the chance for new members is 1% on the github compared to the registration page
Is there a channel for this project? Sounds interesting, this idea is not dumb at all.
Yeah what's your email. I'll send you an invite

Title: TBD
Description: This idea involves collecting land through the Genesis City auction (Dec 15th) with the purpose of neighborhood cohesion. When I imagine how the city will look, and what makes a specific parcel desirable, the two most important variables are: proximity to city core, and your immediate neighbors. As of now, the only cohesion seems to be within districts, but not within sections of Genesis City (Genesis City I assume will be by far the most popular destination with a mix of elements from every district). I envision we will have a separate slack/groupme chat thread the day of the auction to coordinate LAND purchase locations.
For an extreme example, if I plan to open a church, I don't want my neighbor to be in the Adult industry etc
Project Lead: Myself and any other parcel owners who want to take a design/strategy lead
Team: TBD
Goal: Again, TBD. Depends on what the group wants and where we decide to allocate resources.
A few ideas: City Park with open space for games -> increased foot traffic for possible vendors and other activity Model Home Park -> design a stylish home that we can reproduce for another user on their own LAND for a fee Arcade -> could be the "gaming" heart of Genesis City
Category: Private / Public
LAND Needed: 10-500
Startup Costs: TBD
Please feel free to reach out if you've committed MANA to the Genesis City auction but do not have development ideas/plans yet. Thanks
