Desktop Beta Client Crashing when logging in with Walletconnect QR

What happened?

Hello ! I downloaded desktop beta client almost a week ago and cannot login with my Metamask wallet - with walletconnect scanner. I'm on an ASUS gaming laptop.

• The guest login is working like a charm no probs at all - looks beautiful and 0 lag!
• When I select "continue with wallet" to login, the QR code pops up for 1-2 secs then the beta crashes. (if I do happen to snap the QR code with metamask/walletconnect scanner - nothing happens either.
• I've reinstalled multiple times, turned off firewall, pop-upblocker, deleted folder in %appdata% ... still the same. (I was able to download client beta on my old desktop dinosaur and it easily logged into account (and I confirmed account in wallet) but graphics card is old and sadly can't run the program). Laptop should run it just fine - but just can't log in b/c of some BUG! Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Steps to reproduce

I would look on the DCL discord and ask around on your social media platforms if the "walletconnect" crashing on laptops/computers is a general problem - you might have more insight on the situation, and how to resolve it if it is a common issue.
