Earthly Museum – Sharing Methodologies and Processes.
Introduction and Purpose of the Project
The Earthly Museum will be a museological space with a collection constituted by the results of a set of experiences and creative interferences between artists and a given community. We want to create the conditions for the interaction between the human and civic potential (that traditionally exists in a territory with its own methodologies and processes) and the technological tools from the art field.
With a strong experimental nature, regarding the practical application of discussions already held around the relational aesthetics, participatory, collaborative or community art, we propose to the communities the co-construction of participation tools, through artistic languages.
Implementation - Description.
We propose a process that enables actions focused on individual, social and cultural transformation, consisting of three dynamic, permeable and reversible stages:
Public Action - Participatory reflection, in collaboration with the community agents, through the collaborative promotion of screenings, debates, conferences or lectures - with associations, organizations or agencies identified inside and outside of the territory.
Educational Action - Design of educational activities that show the methodologies and processes that the artist uses, with different approaches on formal and informal education.
Residence of Creators – Will start with an Open Call for residencies (from 1 to 4 weeks) at The Earth Museum on Decentraland. The format of the content is open, but the creations are built through participatory and territorial creative interference with transformative potential, from stories, impressions and cultural desire for social change.
Sustainability
We propose a DAO in Aragon with the purpose of purchasing a medium slice of territory for the Earthly Museum and produce artistic works according to the present proposal.
We are interested in creating an ecosystem to finance and manage a portfolio of art work proposed by the artists and selected by a group of experienced curators [Benevolent curatorial dictatorship], using the following scheme:
One or more artists create a website for their creative proposal, plus a DAO in Aragon with an economic relationship between them and future supporters.
The artist proposes the project to the Earthly Museum.
The Earth Museum can refuse the proposal, request more elements and, if accepted, have partial rights over the pieces supported.
Other ways to generate revenue and the DAO’s sustainability:
Promote innovative ways of connecting creative networks from Decentraland and from the real world, like galleries, other museums and exhibition venues.
Use our methodological proposal whenever requested as a product/service, or with other partnerships such as public institutions (city councils, schools and university research centers), NGOs, other informal citizen groups, partnerships with consolidated heterogeneous experience between theory and social practice (national and international) institutions.
Create objects built from historical archives of experiences conducted by other organizations.
Notes on implementation and roadmap.
We will start slow.
We are wating for Aragon to be launched as well as for a crowdfunding platform [something similar to 1Hive on District0x] to be build on ethereum. Nevertheless we will start working on the website that manages all these interactions in December 2017.
At this moment we are studing VR artists in order to choose two of the most interesting ones to kickstart the project. [Please help us by sending names of people you would like to see involved.]

About the proponents:
The À Praça Association was formed in June 2013 by a group of activists and artists. Our first goal is to stimulate thought and practices around a transversal vision of art, democracy, citizenship, science, philosophy, economics and technology, whose object is the integral and sustainable development of the communities.
