6 years ago Now that I think more about this there would be a bunch of uses for a pay for land rights kind of system or people could even donate to fund a land type they want someone to build near them...
First rights contracts to buying land and Auto buy/sell options
Purpose: 1.) First rights of buying land to enable better land management and overall quality of land deals and user happiness... for a fee. ;)
2.) Auto buy/sell options for set land once a price is met or specific land becomes available to buy that you want that is not currently next to a land plot already sold.
Description: First rights of buying land I see a lot of talk of buying, renting, and leasing of land but as an owner of Land within the world I would love to be able to purchase the rights to buy land for X in game mana/currency that would let me know when people want to purchase land and give me the option to buy the land first. On the land buy screen you can have zones of land that show someone has purchased first option to buy on and if someone would like to buy that land they can apply to buy the land and if the user who purchased an option to buy first doesn't buy the land within 24 hours the sale goes through.
The option to buy more land surrounding my original plot of land is something I think many users will be willing to pay a fee for and the fee can be based on estimated market value of land and only implemented 30days or a set time after the initial Terraforming if you so chose. I'd be happy to pay a fee for the first rights of land around mine for myself or friends.
This could also be very useful for communities, companies or other groups that want the use of a big plot of land but only certain users can buy land there.
Auto buy/sell options As the way the first land is sold is only allowed by buying land next to land that was already sold system limits the buying power (for good reasons I know). It would be cool to have an option to automatically buy a plot of land that I can't buy now until people buy connecting land. This would enable users to buy certain plots of land while still keep the value of land and land management under control. If the auto buy doesn't take place buy a set time the user can cancel the order and choose to buy other lands instead.
On the other hand, I would love a system where I can sell land automatically with a set price is matched or when certain events happen that could be based on any number of things.
