We just created a new Contributors team here in our GitHub org where you can jump on and discuss anything you'd like, or contribute to the various areas we're working on. I sent an invite to the email you specified, let me know if you get it.
Sorry, had to re-add - we're trying to figure this Team discussion thing out
Hello,
I would like to be invited to the discussion group too, please.
I think if this is going to be an open standard, it should be possible for any interested party to join the discussion easily.
Thank you.
I'd be interested to join also the slack. We are working on SSI as well for humanitarian.
me too!

It looks like this isn't as open as it looks. I personally never got any response to my request.
The slack channel is part of the members organization, though we've discussed opening a forum like chat for real-time collaboration. I will talk with the members about this after the holiday.

@csuwildcat can we close this issue?
Maybe as "wontfix" then. :) Too bad there isn't an open space. If even the chat room is members-only I'd hardly call it an open standards foundation, more like a lobby or a consortium of companies perhaps.
We're actively discussing opening all comms. It's technically a 501c(6) member organization, but I understand, and we're moving the direction you prefer.

Perhaps we can set up a "temporary" meeting space until this has been formalised...
Well, you know... I'm suggesting that a group (of companies) that promotes itself as standards-defining use transparent discussion channels. I'm not sure it's fair to call that the "direction [I] prefer", rather it's probably everyone's priority as well, isn't it?
Anyway, I have to ask: how is the active discussion going? It's been 3 months and a half.
I'm interesting in participating in this project. Has there been any progress on forming a public forum/channel?
Resolved on 07/05/2020 call
I'm glad I stumbled across this group... you're thinking along the same lines as I have been. I'd like access to the Slack account for myself (markchipman at gmail dot com) so I can participate.
Thanks,
Mark Chipman
