DID Method Specifications? #8

Would it be useful to optionally designate which DID methods are supported by the participants?

do issuers and holders and verifiers each need specification of supported DID methods? Should they all be specified with only set of allowed DID methods?

example: issuers and verifiers use did:web or did:indy, holders use did:peer.
