FlexAsio GUI doesn't open #227

Hello, I just installed FlexAsio on a PC with Windows 7 and when I open the ASIO configuration it does not open any interface. The daw I use is Reaper but I also tried FL Studio and it doesn't work either.

FlexASIO does not come with a configuration GUI. See this FAQ.

That said, FlexASIO will try to open FlexASIO GUI if you try to open the ASIO configuration panel, but that only works if FlexASIO GUI is installed. Did you install FlexASIO GUI? It's separate software and is not bundled with FlexASIO.

Yes, download and install the FlexAsio GUI and it still doesn't open. Sorry, I didn't realize I hadn't specified this properly before asking the question.

That's surprising. I have a few follow-up questions:

  1. Does it work if you open FlexASIO GUI directly outside of FlexASIO - e.g. from the start menu?
  2. If yes, is there a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fabrikat\FlexASIOGUI\Install registry key on your system, and if yes, does the default value match the FlexASIO GUI install directory?
  3. If the answer to all of the above is yes, can you provide a log?

The answer to all those questions is no. I tried opening FlexAsio from the start menu and it doesn't open either. I tried reinstalling FlexAsio and FlexAsio GUI but got the same result. My PC and DAW recognize that FlexAsio is installed but I can't configure it. I don't know what else to try to make it work, probably change the PC 🥲

Edit: I accidentally closed the topic.

If FlexASIO GUI doesn't open even from the start menu, then that's a problem with FlexASIO GUI, not FlexASIO. You should report it against them.

In the mean time, one alternative is to write the configuration file manually.
