Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Landscape images in portrait screensaver look very ugly so I have aves set to display only portrait images, gifs and videos.

Describe the solution you'd like It would be nice if I can allow some landscape content as long as aves only plays them on landscape mode.

• Allowing selecting different tags for different screen orientations (portrait/landscape) would be a simple and effective fix. We can work this out by simply applying tags.
• Alternatively, having those special effects screensavers with fancy animations such as poloroid animation can help landscape images from looking bad on a portrait orientation.

Describe alternatives you've considered Turn on/off fit screen still looks very awkward.

I won't implement your first suggestion, but I'm curious about the second one.

Do you have an example of an app doing that? Or better, could you provide a screen recording showing the effect you find effective?

Would really be cool if the first one were possible imho. btw sure, a foss example would be xscreensaver's Photo pile. See screenshots on the project's site here. It's just a photo album animation, nothing special ig. Basically, screensaver won't have to awkwardly stretch for portrait and landscape mode. E: yt video of the same from the project website.
